Winter League Round 4

NEWFLASH, Winter League returns this weekend for the final regular season installment and we are happy to present to you the final key matchups segment of the year. The first two will decide the playoff pack, the final game is a revenge game. Let’s get ready to rumble.

This game promises to be the most pressure packed game of the day, a loss here probably resigns one team to the Wooden Spoon bracket and the peril of the bottom 4. On the other hand the winner takes a HUGE step towards the promised land of the playoffs. As it stands, the Colts sit in the power position and have the ability to end the the season of the defending champions with games to spare. The key question for the Silvers coming in will be who is taking snaps under centre. Will Jamie Bennett return or does Cameron Reid kick on from his performance at Flagging Iron Man to take the reins of the offence? For the Colts, we expect Andy Brown to continue his growth and run the offence smoothly while Fraser Thompson handles the defence. This one should be a cracker.

Jurassic Cup 2.0, last time out Rexy’s ran out convincing winners of the FIM Plate Champions and will look to continue that run and retain the hallowed gemstone. It’s hard to pick against the technicoloured tribe as rumours from within their camp suggest they might have a full lineup, whatever that means? Don’t sleep on the Raptors though, they’re rapidly improving and are fully prepared to jump on any opportunity they get to pull off an upset. Regardless of how the game goes, these two teams enjoy a little social media jostle so keep an eye out for that in the build up! Also, the Raptors can still claim a bye but they need to win this one to claim it.

REVENGE IS NIGH! Or is it? Who knows? The Outlaws shocked the league with their last minute winner in week 2 and earned a crucial 2 points in the process. This week the league leaders and dominant force will be down two of their stable as Jamie Archibald and Callum Woods head to the USA. Is this an opportunity for lightning to strike twice?
